'Street' Photography, Manchester
07th December 2012 What does a Barnsley Wedding Photographer do on a day off ???
Go take some photos of course :D So this week I had a day out to play with a friend in Manchester, after some initial lengthy chat and the odd beer we finally hit the streets and took... very few photos !!! lol But as I was determined to do a bit of what's called Street Photography I thought I'd best press the shutter occasionally, and here are the results, in no particular order Feel free to post a comment - cheers :-) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Playing out under M1 !!!
20th November 2012 I looks like in a couple of weeks I'll be playing out with some ladies under a bridge over the M1 !!!
Something a little different for a Barnsley Wedding Photographer, but its always good to try to expand your portfolio and try different techniques This shot, among lots of others, was taken under the railway arches near Leeds town centre and its something close to this that we'll be doing under the M1 soon. Its a bit like having an outdoor studio where weather (aside from cold) doesn't matter ![]() And here's a few more to show some different looks from the same shoot ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If you fancy a go for yourself of something like this, please feel free to get in touch :-) And if you are from Leeds and want your Wedding photographing drop me a line about that too, I quite fancy being a Leeds Wedding Photographer too Cheers for now David
Waterton Park Hotel - Wedding venue
14th August 2012 Last Saturday I had the great pleasure of shooting at Waterton Park Hotel again, its a FAB spot for Weddings not just from a photographer's PoV but also as the staff are always FAB too
It was an unusually long day for me that allowed for some night-time shots, and a little bit of a play at being arty too Here's a couple of shots of Waterton Park Hotel taken by yours truly, a very happy Barnsley Wedding Photographer :-) ![]() ![]() ![]()
Hodsock Priory - pe-Wedding meeting
25th July 2012 On Sunday I met up with Anthony & Natalie to plan their Wedding shoot at the awesome Hodsock Priory
We rattled off a few shots in high wind and strong sunlight purely to put them at ease in front of a camera; Nat's hair will be up on the day so we shouldn't have the same problem lol This couple are FUN with a big F - and shooting their Wedding is going to be crazy, in a good way :-) Moreso with my pal Lyn Chapman assisting I'm going to have to do a full on Hodsock Priory Venue Report from this one as I'd not only like to be their Hodsock Priory recommended Wedding Photographer but I also quite fancy living there too :-) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Weather God strikes again
05th July 2012 Some of my Pro Photography mates now call me a 'Weather God' as now into my 6th year of shooting Weddings and I still haven't had rain stop play yet !!!
Sure its rained on plenty of my Weddings, but it always seems to stop at the part(s) of the day when I most need it to stop This June has been very VERY wet and yet it still didn't cause me a problem. For one Wedding it rained every day for a week up to that Saturday, it rained in the morning of the Wedding, then the Sun came out and dried it all up for a perfect day; it then rained for the next 2 days after as well - so of 10 days in a row it rained on 9, but not during my Wedding lol Julie & Nick were also worried about the weather for their Wedding at Cubley Hall on the 5th July, but they needn't have, as once again I spun my magic and although it tried to rain, I simply said 'NO' and the Sun returned They fancied a bit of 'pop' in their Cubley Hall images, so along with the normal processing I'd added a bit of zing to these three, let me know what you think of them :-) Cheers David ![]() ![]() ![]()
Bramall Hall shoot with my Stockport Wedding Photographer friend Alison Bailey
24th June 2012 One of the joys of always looking to improve one's photography is that you can do so via both the shoot itself and the post-processing (PP) afterwards. Putting the two together often becomes a winning combination, and I'm always looking to push in both areas
So, having learnt something new in PP I decided to have a play yesterday with a few shots from a shoot a couple of years ago that was organised by a good pal of mine, Alison of Alison Bailey Photography where we shot the lovely Branka for a brochure for Bramall Hall Here's a few shots to show some playing with new techniques to capture more data & detail from otherwise white dresses. This sort of PP is not suited to every Bride by any means, but it can produce some WOW statement images All comments welcome :-) Thanks David ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() View more BLOG here |
