A few months ago I received a desperate 'Help' phone call late one Saturday evening to see if I was available to cover a Wedding the following Thursday at Wortley Hall, near Barnsley - yep - just 5 days later !!!

What made this especially unusual was that the Wedding was being filmed by Channel 4 as part of a 3 part series of programmes looking at the lives of larger families. Lee & Emma were absolute stars and we had a ball of a time shooting their Wedding, but their FAB children stole both the day & the show too

As part of the shoot clearly had me 'in shot' on many occasions I, and my colleague Wakefield Wedding Photographer Martin Hillary who kindly stepped in to help out, both had to sign an agreement to allow us to be shown on TV. After a ridiculous amount of filming the final cut had the Wedding coverage down to some 2 minutes, and I made my second national TV appearance on Tuesday 31st Jan 2012; but only by virtue of my left arm appearing for some 0.8 seconds !!! While the back of Martin's head managed a disgusting 2.5 seconds :-(

"As seen on TV" - my newfound (arm's) fame has even prompted another and clearly jealous Pro Photographer to take a screen grab from the recent C4 programme I appeared on - so for those that missed it - here is it again

Why go take pics of course !!! :D

Yesterday I decided for a complete break to go plan a shoot at one of my favourite bits of the seaside, Black Nab near Whitby; where previously this year I shot Sharleene in a model shoot (click here to view images)

I'll be looking to use this venue for forthcoming training days for both those new to Landscape Photography and for some model shoots/training too, but yesterday was about having fun

The timing for the outgoing tide was perfect, but sadly the low winter Sun meant it had dipped below the cliffs far too early. So, if you fancy a trip here anytime soon I'd suggest you went to follow the outgoing tide at around 9.00 a.m. - so the Sun is still crossing the horizon but not yet over the cliffs

Well - yesterday's rain didn't manage to completely stop play at Hazlewood Castle, but getting married late in the afternoon in December does severely cut your chances for outside photos

Assisting my friend Martin yesterday gave us the BEST vicar I've ever met too. Unbelievably helpful, keen to ensure the couple had all the photos they could dream of, and he even had a bubble machine to make the exit more interesting !!!

This is pretty much the last shot from my last Wedding in 2011, and what a great year its been too

I thought Saturday 17th December was to be my last 2011 Wedding, and this morning (Monday 19th December) was to be my last 2011 Wedding consultation (they booked) - but NO :D

A pal of mine was left in the do-do by his assistant pulling out, so I'm helping him shoot a Wedding at Hazlewood Castle later this week; and two further enquiries this morning mean I'm seeing another couple this week too for their September 2012 Wedding - busy busy - and loving it :-)

It's always an honour when people ask you to offer them advice and training, and in early 2012 I'll be doing just that for a few of my online pals from the Photography world where I'll be presenting two one-day courses on How to become a Wedding Photographer

So its also an honour to find people are prepared to travel significant distances for that advice & training - but one attendee tops them all with traveling 400 miles from the top of Scotland !!! Which easily beats another traveling just 240 miles from the south coast of England :D

I'm well chuffed - but slightly concerned as to if we'll be able to understand each other !!! lol

Recently I've had the opportunity to shoot something I've not done much of before - which may seem odd - but it's just people acting as models for both their & my fun

I'm currently interested in ANYONE who fancies getting together for an hour or two, somewhere interesting, for some portrait photography

I'm NOT looking just for the most gorgeous people but rather anyone 'interesting' looking. So whether you are a larger lady, older bloke, cool dude, wacky dresser, into tats, piercings, a Goth etc. I want to hear from you to discuss and organise a shoot

Oh - and IT'S FREE !!!!!!

At the end of every session I'll process the images and send you a disc of images for you to print off yourself. All you have to do is have an idea or 10 of your own of how you'd like to be photographed, and drop me an email with some contact details and a brief explanation of why you want shooting!!!

All shoots will need to be in & around Barnsley, and ideally with some availability for weekdays too - if there's a venue that springs to mind feel free to shout about that too

What an interesting Saturday I had assisting as 2nd photographer to David & Margaret Blunkett's Wedding in Sheffield, moreso as our very own PM put in an appearance too

To say the day was hectic would be a massive understatement!!!

But it was a fantastic Wedding and the venue for the reception was awesome. A real bonus was being able to leave our gear unattended at times knowing it would be safe - as we left it surrounded by Special Branch protection officers

The images have all gone for vetting prior to release for albums etc. so I can't post any at the moment
